ONE-DAY ROAD TRIP AROUND BRITISH COLUMBIA: Chasing Waterfalls and Awesome Nature

Canada has been my new home for more than nine months now since I migrated here last October 2018. For the first two weeks here, I just roamed around to familiarize myself and to explore some places accessible by the train and by the metro buses like English Bay and Canada Place. After that, I’ve had to work to support my lifestyle in this country. I am currently residing at the City of Vancouver, British Columbia where there are a lot of beautiful places that you must visit. Places like Squamish, Whistler, Victoria and Kelowna are just some that should be on top of your list. So, when my sister, residing in Toronto, got the chance to book a flight and visit me, she planned to go on a one-day road trip here. We decided to be close with nature and visit beautiful lakes and majestic falls around Squamish, Whistler and Pemberton.

We started the road trip early and departed from our house around 06:30 on a Saturday morning of 15th June 2019. Since I have not been to those places, even if I am the driver :), I am very much excited to tour around and to do what I love doing – traveling.

Here are the places that we’ve visited during our one-day road trip:

Shannon Falls Provincial Park

Brandywine Falls Provincial Park

Alexander Falls

Green Lake

Lost Lake

Daisy Lake

Nairn Falls Provincial Park

Joffre Lakes Provincial Park

Callaghan Lake Provincial Park

Those are just some of the beautiful places to visit around the Squamish, Whistler and Pemberton area. A one-day road trip is not enough to explore the whole stretch, but, it was already undeniably pleasing for the eyes and it was a good feeling to be one with nature again.

We have brought our own food and drinks to save money and time, during the tour. And on our way home, we’ve had a quick stop at the McDonalds along the road to grab some snacks.

Please take note that all the provincial parks we have visited are FREE – no entrance fee required. And for the duration of our one-day road trip, we have only used 100 dollars including the gasoline for our car.

“Sometimes you have to explore places near your area just to feel relax and to take a rest from your busy schedule at work.”
