Slowly Ozamiz is on its momentum to be on the list of prime travel destinations in Mindanao, come and Let’s Travel and Visit Ozamiz City.

When was the last time you’ve visited Ozamiz City? How you guys miss this place? When someone asked of what places you want to visit in Mindanao, usually I answered common places in Mindanao like Davao, Cagayan De Oro, Zamboanga, Bukidnon, and Tawi-Tawi. Never thought of the place Ozamiz City. So, when TBDC (The Big Difference Communications) team invited be to be part of the first ever media tour to Ozamiz City, the excitement is very high and after the conversation with them, I did search of the place and I felt a little bit sad because not a lot post about Ozamiz City and sometimes it is not good to post. I’m not from Ozamiz but I feel them and I believe in saying “Don’t judge the book by its cover”.

The idea to boost the capacity of Ozamiz City in tourism is a great idea, in each place, there are many things to know and to discover. So I’m so much ready to witness the unknown beauty and history of Ozamiz and to know all the plan changes and development of the place.

So why you travel?

As a traveler, before I visit any place, I make sure I have some information of the place including the history of the place, did you know that the name Ozamiz is in honor of the late Senator Jose Ozamiz – the very 1st senator from the area, dubbed as the late and forgotten hero from Misamis Occidental. On July 16, 1948, the principal port and trading center of Misamis Municipality was renamed as Ozamiz City under Republic Act No. 321.
As a traveler, I make sure that I’ve tasted their food, their known delicacies in Ozamiz City. Ozamiz City has many delicacies to offer, the first one is their popular suman from Oroquieta “Suman Tinambiran”, a sweet and salty tasted suman comes with a black strip of rice twisted into the white strip that you guys will probably love it. How about the crunchy kiping topped with latik sauce that would probably like kids and kids at heart. One more delicacies that soon will become popular in Ozamiz City is their Dragon Fruit Ice Cream, it was created by Chef Johann Dagandara, owner of Johann’s Cuisine that will soon be launched in Ozamiz City but I'm very much happy because I'm one of the few people to first taste this dragon fruit ice cream and it was so good and creamy.
